Atlético's Welcome Night ended with a final surprise that thrilled everyone

The first team players witnessed the atmosphere of the Metropolitano first-hand

It was 7pm and the atmosphere was already palpable in the surroundings . There was excitement in the air among the Atlético fans as an evening of enjoyment was beginning for them. Among the fans dressed in different Atlético de Madrid shirts there was a pattern that was repeated: the Spiderman costume.

Julian Alvarez, the great attraction

There is no doubt that the spider is the main reason why most fans have come to this event. The 75 million euros that Atlético de Madrid paid for him make him the second most expensive signing in Atlético's history, not counting variables. However, this Welcome Night had many surprises in store.

The first of these was a brief performance by Sidecars singing several of their best songs. After this, the seven players signed by the Atlético de Madrid women's team were introduced, a restructuring similar to that of the men's team. Only one of them was absent due to international commitments.

Spectacular atmosphere

An important note to note is the thunderous atmosphere that was experienced throughout the event. Chants, the a capella anthem and cheers at all the presentations were a constant. The enthusiasm of the people for the team is evident, after so many disappointing summers in the transfer market, it was about time.

Grandfathers, grandmothers, fathers, mothers, boys and girls all wanted to be part of an afternoon to remember. An afternoon that raised the level when the presentations of the footballers began, the first one, in one corner of the stadium, was that of L ' Normand . From the opposite corner , Alexander Sørloth would come out, with a backlight and tearing up a white sheet like in the introduction of a 007 film.

The main event began with Conor Gallagher leaving through the central corridor of the changing rooms and preceded by the exit of 4 motorcyclists , two from each corner of the stadium. And of course, the spider was the icing on the cake.

Focusing on the presidential box, he ran towards the tunnel to the changing rooms, where he left cheered by the 30,000 fans present in the stadium . All those present already know what it is like to feel the warmth of the fans and they have yet to experience it in a big match.

Once all the protagonists had been introduced, a band entertained the attendees during the evening . Finally, the players presented made a tour of the stadium, thanking all the fans for their welcome.

However, the a capella anthem with which the stadium bid farewell to the players is unmatched and even more so in the stadium. The players watched in awe as an unfilled stadium reverberated like few do when full. And, let me tell you, one gets goosebumps when one hears a stadium with such a dedicated fan base.
