This summer has been one of the most eventful and important for Atlético de Madrid, at least since Simeone took over in 2011. The red-and-white team were very clear that they had to make a large number of changes if they wanted to have a competitive squad. Atletico Madrid increases its value
Even before the end of last season, Simeone and the sporting management had a very clear idea of what the next steps should be. The Atlético squad was increasingly older and its market value had been decreasing over the years. Therefore, this summer was the ideal time to give the red-and-white team a quality jump and be able to compete for all the titles.
In fact, three of the signings that have been incorporated in this last market have been placed as the most valuable players in the squad. Julián Alvarez is in first position , with a value of 90 million euros according to the Transfermarkt website. Just below him is Conor Gallagher with 50 million, while Robin Le Normand closes the top with 40 million.
Rodrigo de Paul is the first player from last season to appear in this ranking, with a market value of 30 million. One of those whose value has dropped the most is Nahuel Molina, who is now at 28 million, seven less than last season. Other players such as Ángel Correa (18 million) and Thomas Lemar (10 million) are also surprising, whose value has been decreasing over the years.
Above Real Sociedad
Thanks to this good transfer market, Atlético de Madrid has managed to recover the third position in the ranking of most valuable squads. Real Madrid and FC Barcelona remain in the first two positions, but Real Sociedad had surpassed the red-and-white team. However, the good work of the colchonero team has managed to increase its value and end up surpassing the Basque team.
Simeone is still trying to adapt all the signings to his style of play, giving almost all of them the opportunity to play.
