Morocco sweeps: Atlético de Madrid and Real Madrid could be affected

The launch of the 2030 World Cup has been underway for a few months... but there are some discrepancies

It is assumed that in the organization of an event such as a World Cup or a European Championship, if it is done among several, it is because bonds of unity are generated between them. This would facilitate its development, for the benefit of the global show. This is not the case of Spain and Morocco.

With latent socio-political-cultural differences, the decision on who will host each match is being an ordeal between both countries. Both nations want to take the lead and be the venue that hosts the final of the world team championship. However, Morocco takes the lead.

Morocco, with the upper hand

From the African country, they know that the candidacy would hardly have gone ahead without its joint presentation with the Spanish-Portuguese candidate. Because? The first reason is that with its accession, the Confederation of African Football (CAF) stopped being a rival and became the greatest ally. Knowing that the 2034 candidacy was 'reserved' for Saudi Arabia and its regrettable sportwashing experiment, without Morocco the 2030 candidacy was in danger.

To all this, we must add the relations that Gianni Infantino has with the CAF, in which he greatly influenced the last elections for the presidency in 2023. The pressures exerted against anyone who did not support the one who finally emerged as president are known. CAF President: Patrice Motsepe. As happened, for example, with the President of the Ivory Coast Federation - Jacques Anouma - who had to leave office after not supporting Motsepe.

In fact, Gianni Infantino made several trips during the World Cup selection process , while with Spain, he kept a safe distance due to the scandal with Luis Rubiales. Therefore, having Morocco against us would have been a handicap that would be difficult to overcome.

And that's another: the Brodie case, the 'Rubiales' case, the months in the RFEF without a president and the Negreira case... As if that were not enough, the disqualification of the current president, the suspension by FIFA of the previous one and the controversy with the Government, due to the alleged intervention in the Federation, have ended up endangering the candidacy that was finally elected.

The Royal House of Morocco is serious

With all this breeding ground that we have presented, Morocco has seen the opportunity and is going for it. The first thing he wants to do is the party for the presentation of the BidBook, that is, the candidacy project. This candidacy was already presented on July 29 at the FIFA offices , however Morocco wants to take the celebration when it was agreed that it would be in Spain.

This Bid Book includes a classification in which the venues go by category to finally decide in which stadiums each round will be played. Among the 20 stadiums, only three can host the opening match or the final: the Camp Nou, the Santiago Bernabéu or the Grand Hassan II Stadium in Casablanca. The Metropolitano would be in the quarterfinals or, perhaps, the semifinals.

No one will repeat the opening or final and knowing that Portugal has only asked for a semi-final, the Spanish-Moroccan dispute is gaining more strength than ever. The African country has the support of its Royal House , which is determined to reach the final of the tournament.

To do this, they have decided to build a monstrous stadium that will hold 115,000 spectators under an area of 100 hectares . They want to unseat the Santiago Bernabéu as the main rival for the final and will invest 500 million euros in said infrastructure.

Not even the IBC is saved

Every aspect that a country has that the one opposite does not have will be celebrated almost as a victory. It does not compromise even with the international press center (IBC) , which is between establishing itself in Casa de Campo (Madrid) or in the Foire Internationale of Casablanca.

The former argue that the surface is as large as five times that of Central Park. On the other hand, the latter indicate that by being located in the center of the city it will have unparalleled technical facilities.

And who will decide where everything is done?

If it is an international tournament organized by FIFA, you don't have to be a lynx to know that it will be FIFA. And it is at this point where we return to what was explained previously. The African federations, and specifically the Moroccan one, have a very good relationship with Gianni Infantino.

It would not be at all strange to see how the President of FIFA gives in to the claims of the Moroccan Royal House and Federation. But the good relationship that FIFA has with Real Madrid cannot be ruled out either. A palpable fact with the white club's defense of the new Club World Cup that will be played this year.

Overall, the show is served. Two countries that want to win as many things as possible will fight with their strengths to be the main nation in the 2030 World Cup. Meanwhile, the theory states that this World Cup will serve to "build bridges between cultures, offer a welcoming environment to fans."

Curious bridges extend from the offices.
