Marcos Llorente's message that nobody expected after his performance: 'They robbed me...

The Spanish full-back, after scoring a goal and giving an assist, surprised with these statements

Marcos Llorente was undoubtedly the star of Atlético de Madrid's recent match against Girona, where his team won with a resounding 3-0. After the brilliant performance of the midfielder, who put in an outstanding display on the pitch, the cameras captured an unexpected moment: a statement that surprised more than one person. Llorente, known for his energy and versatility on the pitch, made a comment that could have initially caused confusion: “They robbed me...”

However, far from being a complaint about the result of the match, Llorente's statement referred to something completely different. In an informal conversation with the media, the Atlético player revealed that he was talking about his experience with Fantasy Football. A popular game where users can create teams with real players and compete in virtual leagues.

Madness with Fantasy

“I’m playing Fantasy Football and I have a friend who recently signed me on the game. I think he’ll be happy that I’ve started playing,” Llorente explained. However, when asked if he had been able to sign himself for his own team, the midfielder replied with humour: “No, they robbed me. I haven’t been able to sign myself.”

Llorente's comment was met with laughter and complicity from the journalists present. They understood that the "robbery" referred to was nothing more than a joke related to the fantasy game, rather than a serious complaint. These kinds of comments show the more relaxed and approachable side of Llorente, who is often praised for his positive attitude both on and off the field.

His colleagues praise him

Antoine Griezmann, who has shared numerous battles on the pitch with Llorente, was not short of praise: “He is always like that. He gives everything for the team, he eats up the whole field, it doesn't matter what position you put him in, because he will give 100%.”

Coach Diego Pablo Simeone also highlighted the importance of Llorente in his tactical approach: “I am very happy with the challenges. After one or two years of looking for an important place for a player with the characteristics that Marcos has, we found him as an intern in the season that we won LaLiga.
