The Argentine coach addresses the media after the team's training session

Diego Pablo Simeone addresses the media ahead of the LaLiga opener against Villarreal. The red-and-whites have had their last training session this morning before announcing the squad list and travelling to La Cerámica. Among other important matters are the departure of Joao Félix and the possible debut of Julián Álvarez in the Atlético shirt.

The Argentine coach has few doubts about his starting eleven, opting for the same approach as during pre-season. Alexander Sorloth and Antoine Griezmann would be at the head of the attack, with the possibility of a third striker joining them. On the other hand, Cesar Azpilicueta would occupy the left-footed profile of the defence while work is being done to close a reinforcement for that position.

Simeone returns to La Liga

Atlético de Madrid will officially get going tomorrow with an away match against Villarreal at La Cerámica. The red-and-white team completed training this morning with no news and with all players available. Simeone should announce the list of players called up tomorrow before travelling to play against the yellow submarine.

Two of the three summer signings are expected to make their debuts, at least in terms of the starting eleven. Robin Le Normand and Alexander Sorloth are expected to start, while Julián Álvarez will have to wait his turn on the bench. The Argentine has not been able to play in any of the friendlies after having to go to the Paris Olympics.

It could also be the last match that Joao Felix plays with Atletico Madrid before leaving for Chelsea on loan. The Portuguese would arrive in London after paying more than 40 million euros, plus other variables. In this way, Simeone could incorporate into his squad the last reinforcements necessary to compete for all the titles.
