Koke does not keep quiet and reveals the problem in the Atleti dressing room: 'Whoever does not run...'

The captain launched a criticism after the team's poor performance

Koke Resurrección, captain of Atlético de Madrid, did not hide his frustration after the draw against Rayo Vallecano. Speaking to the press, he was clear in pointing out what he considers to be a problem in the team: the lack of attitude at certain times. “Whoever doesn't run, can't play,” he said firmly, making it clear that at Atlético it is not enough to wear the shirt, but effort is essential.

Koke's anger

The Atletico captain did not hesitate to admit that the team was not up to par in the first half of the match in Vallecas. "We lacked everything," said Koke, explaining that the team came out without the necessary attitude, which allowed Rayo to take advantage. The midfielder was critical, stating that these errors cannot be repeated if they want to fight for the season's objectives. In his opinion, the lack of intensity was evident, something that had already been seen in other recent matches.

Koke also recalled the story of last season, insisting that they cannot afford to keep dropping points in games like this. For the captain, these lapses in concentration and attitude in the first half are a warning sign that the team must quickly correct. His message was clear: “We must learn from what happened last year.” Atlético have already dropped points in similar situations, and Koke fears that history will repeat itself if they do not change their mentality.

A clear improvement in the second half

Despite the frustration caused by the result, Koke acknowledged that the team improved in the second half, creating more chances and showing a better attitude. However, he regretted that it was not enough to turn the score around. The Atlético captain stressed the need for all players, from the first minute, to give their best if they want to be competitive. For him, the demands at Atlético are maximum, and there is no room for those who are not willing to give everything on the field.

After the draw in Vallecas, the team is six points behind leaders Barcelona, who have 18 points. If Simeone's men want to win the title, they must be more reliable and not drop so many points.
